The launch of Tirrena pasta marks a new departure for the Frescobaldi family. Renowned for producing award winning wines and extra virgin olive oil on their estates in Tuscany, the family has now turned its wheat into a range of pastas. Tirrena is a semi-whole durum wheat semolina pasta. The pasta is made from four types of ancient grain - Senatore, Cappelli, Khorasan and Evoldur. The combination of cool soils, mild climate and breeze from the Tyrrhenian Sea makes the location ideal for growing these ancient grains.
